Iris Piano Trio at the Charles E. Smith Life Communities, Rockville, MD

IMP began in 2016 at the Charles E. Smith Life Communities, a six-building development serving over 1000 older adults in Rockville, MD. Starting with cellist Lauren Latessa, and expanding to include the three musicians of the Iris Piano Trio, the program developed as an exciting creative exchange between professional musicians and members of the community. 

 

Iris Music Project at Weinberg Villages and Manors, Baltimore, MD

Under the guidance of the Iris Piano Trio, three Baltimore-based musicians are in residence at both Weinberg Villages and Weinberg Manors, low-income retirement communities in Baltimore County and City, MD. This Program is support by a Thome Aging Well Program grant.

 

Iris Music Project at The Mather Evanston and Mather Place, Evanston and Wilmette, IL

In spring of 2023, cellist Kimberly Jeong and pianist Florence Mak became the musicians-in-residence for Mather's two Illinois campuses under the guidance of Iris Music Project. The project has been so successful it was extended from three to six months. 

 

Iris Music Project at Winter Growth, Columbia, MD

Beginning January 2024, Mary Ann Perkel and Ruby Fulton will serve as the musicians-in-residence for Winter Growth, a small assisted living/memory care community in Columbia MD. This work is supported by the Howard County Arts Council. 

 

Iris Music Project at Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, MD

From February - June 2024, three musicians from the National Philharmonic Orchestra will serve as musicians-in-residence for Asbury Methodist Village, under the mentorship of Iris Music Project. 

 

Iris Music Project at Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore, MD

Iris Piano Trio serves as consultants for Peabody Conservatory's Musician-in-Residence program, which places student musicians in retirement communities around the greater Baltimore community. 

 

Iris Music Project at JCC Rockville, Rockville, MD

Iris Music Project provides monthly events for JCC Rockville's Senior Lunch Program.
