Cellist MaryAnn Perkel has performed professionally in the DC / Baltimore area for over twenty years. Her musical journey began at the age of four with piano lessons at the
age offour before transitioning to cello at age ten. Originally from Richmond, VA, Ms. Perkel earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance from East Carolina University. She has performed and/or recorded with numerous area ensembles, including Washington Choral Arts and The Washington Chorus at the Kennedy Center, the Richmond Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, Fairfax Symphony, Baltimore Center Stage Theater, Olney Theater and the Virginia Museum Theater. Additionally, Ms. Perkel performed with or served as a faculty artist at the Round Top (TX) Music Festival, the Des Moines Metro Opera, and the Sewanee (TN) Summer Music Festival. She is currently a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and The Da Capo Chamber Players. Ms. Perkel maintains an active teaching studio in her home in Ellicott City, MD and resides with fellow musician and husband, trombonist David Perkel.
