Originally from West Hartford, CT, violinist Jennifer Rickard began her professional career with the New Orleans Symphony. After three years in the Crescent City, she relocated to Arizona to play with the Phoenix Symphony for a year. Thereafter, she made her way to Washington, DC, after winning a job with the Air Force Strings; a position which she held for 4 years. Additionally, in the summers, Ms Rickard maintained residence in Greensboro, NC as a faculty member at the Eastern Music Festival. Currently, Jennifer continues to enjoy a varied career in the DC Area as an orchestral and chamber musician, recording artist and teacher. She can be heard locally with the National Philharmonic, Washington Concert Opera, Annapolis Symphony, Apollo Orchestra, Amadeus Orchestra, the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, the Post Classical Ensemble, and the Wolf Trap Opera Orchestra. Recently, she recorded with the National Philharmonic at Strathmore Hall for the 150th birthday celebration CD of Samuel Coleridge Taylor. Ms Rickard received a BA from Barnard College and a MM from the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, OH. When not performing or teaching, Jennifer enjoys cooking, pampering her cats, traveling and home renovation projects with her husband.
