A cherished memory

The Iris Music Project offers performances and programs that are exceptional. I had the pleasure of attending their concert series when the Charles E. Smith Life Communities engaged these gifted professional musicians to present a program for the residents of the Ring House and Landow House independent and assisted living facilities. The Iris Music Project plays a diverse repertoire of classical and popular music that engages and delights their audience. When my mother lived at the Landow House, my sister and I would often attend these concerts with her. Because residents' family members and friends would also attend, the residents especially look forward to their events. The music program was truly life-affirming for my mother, uplifting her emotionally and enhancing her sense of well-being. At a time in her life that attending performances at Strathmore and similar venues became difficult, the Iris Music Project provided my mother with something to eagerly anticipate, and assured her that the Ring House and Landow House valued the quality of the residents' experience. Although my mother has passed on, memories of the beautiful Iris Music Project concerts I attended with her remain a cherished memory.
